5 Easter Meal ideas to Enjoy with the Whole Family! Even Your Cat ;)

Easter is a time for celebrating and spending time with our loved ones, and for many of us, that includes our furry feline friends. As a pet food company, we understand the importance of providing our pets with nutritious and balanced diets. But that doesn't mean we can't indulge in a delicious meal ourselves from time to time.

So if you're looking for inspiration for Easter meals that are not only tasty but also (partially) cat-friendly, you've come to the right place. Here are some ideas that will make you and your cat purr. (Note: Please be aware that not all suggestions are suitable for your cat to consume).

1. Cat-shaped Cookies

Start off the Easter weekend with cute and tasty cookies. You can use cookie cutters to make cat-shaped cookies, or if you want to get creative, you can decorate them with frosting and edible decorations. Your cat might even want to join in by playing with the cookie cutters.

2. Trout and Egg Salad

Try making a delicious and refreshing dish like trout and egg salad. Trout makes many cats drool, and eggs are a good source of protein. Simply mix together trout (preferably responsibly caught), chopped hard-boiled eggs, and mayonnaise and serve on a bed of lettuce or with a few slices of sourdough bread. However, due to the high fat content and lactose, you should not let your cat nibble on this dish.

For those who don't mind an extra task, you can even try baking the bread yourself. In that case, we recommend following this recipe: https://www.feastingathome.com/sourdough-bread/

3. Easter Roast with Lamb

No Easter is complete without a roast. Serve the lamb roast with steamed vegetables like carrots and your favorite veggies. However, you should not give any to your cat. Instead, you could give your cat our wet food, which will be available from Thursday (sign up via the following link to be the first to hear about it) and has the same heartiness as a home-cooked meal

4.Catnip Tea

Why not relax after dinner with a cup of catnip tea? Catnip has a pleasant effect on both humans and cats, making it the perfect drink for sharing. Simply steep dried catnip leaves in hot water for a few minutes, strain, and let cool

5. Salmon and Cream Cheese Dip

For a tasty and indulgent snack, try a salmon and cream cheese dip. Salmon is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for both humans and cats. Mix salmon and cream cheese and serve your creation with crackers or vegetable sticks. However, you should not give any to your cat. Instead, you could give your cat our freeze-dried snack, which is also rich in high-quality protein, just like the salmon.

Easter is a time for celebrating with our loved ones, including our furry friends. As we all know, no restaurant can beat a home-cooked meal. Just the thought of my grandmother's Sunday roast makes my mouth water. That's why it was important for us to create a wet food recipe that offers the same quality as a home-cooked meal. There are only 2 days left before the wet food hits the market! Do you want to be among the first to hear about it (and receive a unique discount)? Then leave your email address via the following link

We wish you a Happy Easter!

Best regards,

Ryan, on behalf of The Better Cat Team

P.S.: Please remember to always provide your cat with a balanced and nutritious diet.
